A new Economy
We must begin by supporting a common sense economy which ties policy decisions and key legislation in the corridors of power to the quality of lives of people. Elected officials must begin by renewing their thinking and mind set by first recognizing that they are servants of the people and not slaves to special interest. They must devote as much time to serving the interest of the citizens as they do to fundraising for the next election. We must abandon the smoke screen politics that gives the American people a false impression that raising or lowering taxes is the panacea to a robust economy without making hard choices. This is one of the biggest deceptions in our nation's history. Cutting and raising taxes can both grow and hurt the economy depending on whether you have a sound economic plan for the State. more

21st Century Education

Peter and Bill Clinton

Peter and President Bill Clinton

I support full funding and expansion of Head Start and other early childhood education programs.  I believe that student and teacher safety is no longer a guarantee and must be addressed..  Many of our college graduates  start behind the eight ball as compared to other industrialized nations  The state must work with the private sector to come up with creative ways to address this challenge. I want to see more technical and trade schools built as an option for those who choose not to go to college. Foster an environment for life time learning to enable our work force to compete in a 21st century economy. more

Unfortunately, the last few years have caused great concern in my heart that all is not well with regards to the protection of women who have been beaten or battered by their violent husbands or male significant other. There has been an increase of high profile deaths of women by their husbands or male significant other, after those women pleaded in vain to have their spouses or significant other issued restraining orders for fear of their safety. .more
